Cleopatra & Frankenstein

I was excited to read this as there was a lot of hype about it as the book of the summer last year. (I read it on my kindle, hence the photo from an airport WHS!). However, I didn’t love it, I thought the passages were well written and scenes of Italy especially enticing with the honeymoon balcony scene. I thought the characters were portrayed interestingly and you were invested in their friends of the main two characters, rather than just them. Overall, it was a bit too depressing for me and I never saw the romantic connection between them from the start - but I do think it’ll make a great TV show if it’s made into one.
